BALOO’S BAR has closed down after the owners decided to concentrate on their other business.
The bar in Fountain Street, St Peter Port, shut its doors for the last time on Saturday night.
Manuel Jesus Fernandes has run the business with his brother Eduardo for five years and said they decided to close it when the lease came up for renewal.
‘We are going to concentrate on the fish and chip business next door,’ said Manuel Fernandes.
‘I would also like to get to bed early on a weekend.’

I liked that place back when it was ‘Toast’, it was comfy, with good music playing and a good atmosphere… when it turned back to Baloos it turned into such a dive, glad to see it gone

Woody liked it when it was Toast…probably the worst period in the bars History, thats why it didnt last long.
Baloo’s was one of the homes for Guernsey Dj’s. Every major Dj in the island has played there and lets just hope that someone with a bit of money to gut it out and rebuild it comes in and saves what really is a Guernsey Electronic Musical Institution.
