HISTORIC buildings can be preserved but there is also scope for architects and developers to work innovatively, according to English Heritage’s development economics director.

David Tomback gave a presentation at St James about the organisation’s work.

He is heavily involved in assessing listed buildings in the UK and establishing how they can be preserved but also made use of.

Mr Tomback (pictured) said from the little he had seen of the island, Guernsey was a fantastically historic place and it was important people recognised that.
