LAST-MINUTE gifts flew off the shelves yesterday as islanders took advantage of the final late shopping evening before Christmas.

There was no sign of the wet weather which had kept some away from Town earlier this month.

Swarovski director Paula Keyte said she was pleased to see so many customers.

‘The wet weather on some of the late night shopping nights meant that it was a bit quiet, but everyone has just come here at a different time so it hasn’t made a difference,’ she said.

‘We’ve had a lot of men in tonight who’ve left the shopping to the last minute. It’s been great.’
