FRIENDS and families were reunited at the airport yesterday in time for the Christmas celebrations.

Kingston University graduate Joe Cowens, 21, was eagerly awaiting the arrival of one of his close friends, Alvin Brown, 27, from America.

‘Me and Alvin met in the gym while we were both at university in the UK and have been good mates ever since.

‘His parents are travelling to England in two weeks so rather than going back home to America we thought it would be nice for him to come over and spend it in Guernsey,’ he said.

Mr Brown, who studies creative writing at Cambridge University, said it was his first time in the island and he could not wait to see what it was like.
