A RECORD number of people took part in yesterday’s Boxing Day swim at Cobo Bay yesterday.
Around 700 to 800 swimmers took to the water while more than 1,000 turned out to watch.
Last year, the annual dip raised £4,000 for The Guernsey Cheshire Home and organisers hope to have matched that this year.
Cheshire Home chairman Jurat Stephen Jones was overwhelmed by how many people took part.
‘It’s been quite amazing,’ he said. ‘To see around 600 to 700 people running down the beach to go for a swim is amazing.
