HELP FOR HEROES is performing miracles for people, one current serviceman said at the annual Yuletide Yomp yesterday.

More than 20 current and former local servicemen took part in the 13-mile event.

Carrying 20-kilo backpacks, they set off from Les Rocquettes Hotel towards Cobo, along the west coast, to the Bridge then back through Town to finish at the hotel.

The walk came about three years ago and was originally the idea of Alex Ward of the Fifth Rifles, who is currently serving in Afghanistan.
