Airlines could lose support from States in savings initiative

STATES support for airlines and routes could be cut by £500,000.

But Commerce and Employment said changes to its airline policies were still under consideration.

The review had initially been regarded as having the potential to make £710,000 in savings as a Financial Transformation Programme initiative.

Last year’s estimates, which show the move is in its final business case stage, put the amount at half a million.

I can’t believe that Derek Coates gave away the subsidy to charity. I’m not against Charity but the decent thing would have been to attempt to pass on some savings to his customers.

What should concern people is that this ‘idea’ comes from the Financial Transformation Programme. So something the politicians have known about is handed over to a management company and they get 6% of the saving.

Got to wonder what the politicians and the Chief Officers are being paid for?
