Condor Ferries has been forced to sail to Poole this weekend after cracks were found in the harbour wall at Weymouth.
Problems at the Dorset port were discovered earlier this week, leading to emergency work.
Condor has warned that passengers will face longer journey times while the Weymouth berth is out of action.
Operations manager Captain Fran Collins said the company was working to keep the lifeline route going.
- Condor is contacting passengers about the changes and updates will be available at: www.condorferries.com.

Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
Is there any visibility on when things will be back to normal?
I suppose the Anti-Condor brigade will blame Condor for this problem.

Lifeline? For who? Because Channel Islands passengers can travel to Poole or Portsmouth, with better road connections. Weymouth is a pain to travel out of, especially if going North East / East Midlands. I would agree it is a lifeline for the economy of Weymouth, but not that it is for the Channel Islands.

While they’re about it perhaps they could update facilities for car drivers who have checked in, maybe even open the cafe there. As they are apalling especially if there are delays and you’re stuck there for any length of time.

James (above) get a grip, or a life! Condor IS a lifeline service between the UK and Channel Islands, no matter where they are sailing to/from. At least they are still able to operate the fast ferry to another port, considering it only uses Poole during the Summer, rather than cancelling altogether. John, you were right, didn’t take long!
