SEVEN voters were waiting when the polls opened this morning at St Stephen’s Community Centre in St Peter Port South.
First in line was trust worker John Symons.
He had been waiting since 7.35am to be sure he could cast his vote.
‘I will be voting for experience and maturity,’ he said.
The 58-year-old had never missed an opportunity to vote in a general election, but would prefer it if island-wide voting were introduced.
Polls in St Peter Port South and North opened at 8am. All other districts open at 10am.
They close at 8pm.
