JUBILEE celebrations were a huge success that brought the whole community together – and they should be held more often, islanders said yesterday.
Street parties, concerts, church services and fireworks were among the many events held to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
People said they enjoyed them so much they would like to see such community events take place more often.
Vale douzenier Bill Cohu said he would have never have guessed in his wildest dreams the number of people who turned out for the Vale and St Sampson’s jubilee party at L’Islet Common and Grand Havre.
‘At one stage it was as busy as Town during Christmas on late night shopping because you couldn’t get through. It would be nice to have more community events like this.’
