PSD is working on a 50-year plan for key infrastructure

PUBLIC Services is working on a 50-year vision for the island’s infrastructure.
The new board has been reviewing the existing business plans and strategies and each part of the department, including Guernsey Harbours, the airport, Guernsey Water, States Works, roads and solid waste.
It will also next month visit Alderney for a board meeting and site meetings on the breakwater and airport there, for which it is also responsible.
‘At our next board meeting we will prioritise our key objectives and agree timelines for the next four years,’ said Public Services minister Paul Luxon (pictured).
‘We’re trying to take a 50-year view of PSD because we’re the custodians of many of the island’s key infrastructure assets. Harbours, roads, clean water and waste water drainage – these are critical assets.’

In other words ‘we’re going to comercialise everything and make islanders pay double so the directors (deputies in some cases) can get paid big fat fees. Hoorah!
