Reshuffle of senior Treasury staff ‘will bring efficiencies’

A RESHUFFLE of senior staff at Treasury and Resources will improve governance and assurance across the public sector, one of the department’s new leaders has said

Simon Elliott, pictured right, has been promoted from States head of human resources to lead the ‘resources’ side of the department – his new title is States chief corporate resources officer.

He is joined at the head of the department by Bethan Haines, who has been promoted from chief accountant to the reinstated role of States treasurer.

In a further move, current head of internal audit Zain Chesshire will take on additional responsibility for corporate assurance activities, including risk, in an extended role as States head of assurance.

All three will report directly to chief executive Mike Brown.
