Health to face vote of no confidence
Thursday 29th November 2012, 5:28PM GMT.
HEALTH and Social Services faces a vote of no confidence after this morning’s announcement of emergency measures to help cap a shock £2.5m. overspend.
Former board member Mike Hadley, pictured, will lead the motion, angered about the cuts to services.
At least three more deputies expressed support for it in the immediate aftermath of this morning’s debate – seven are needed in total for it to be submitted.
The request is made in writing to the Policy Council and the board then has five days to resign or face a vote in the States.
That would potentially be before the Budget debate on Wednesday 12 December.

Deputy Hadley clearly does not understand the urgent need to save money

The only people paying for the States of Guernsey total incompetence in running this island is the ordinary working people of the island.

I didn’t vote for Hunter Adam and I was very disappointed when he got in! But I cut him some slack and gave him a chance along with the rest of them but what a disappointment he is, only in Guernsey could something like this happen! Bang on Christmas and you pull this disgraceful stunt.., well it might help your figures out but surely people are more important and who gave you the right to determine between essential and non essential. I have no family or friends that I am aware of waiting for an operation nor do I know any staff that have been cut but I feel for them immensely ! Hunter Adam take some advice and step down as minister and save some of your integrity whilst you can!

RIPOFF.your points are all right. the states over the years have totally destroyed guernsey,and sadly they cannot see what damage they have done. Many people will come up with remarks like would people want to return to times gone by, yes there are thousands of real guernsey woman and men who dream of that happening,this island is vastly over populated by people who were meant to better the island, more people, more costs to run the island,this island is a sad place, where people are judged on what they have and not what they are. and is this terrible thing with health just the start, but the real people of guernsey must make themselves heard , and now, not wait for the next election,deputies are your servants, so make them earn there money instead of going off on worthless jolies.Let them prove they care about guernsey by doing the job properly

vote of no confidence for HSSD as trying to control costs – and then Hadley and co propose votes of no confidence – appear to be supporting totally dysfunctional government and saying HSSD should ignore the budget – political opportunism fron Hadley and Lowe judging by twitter spat – absolutely pathetic – can states show some leadership – are they serious about cutting costs or are they going to increase taxation? expect the latter some time soon!

The way this states are going is going to cost them a lot more in the long run with cut this cut that tax this tax that because employers will cut workforces to save money therefore more on dole , some people can’t work until certain operations performed ,with these extra people on dole and supplementary , more paid out with nothing being paid in through no fault of their own. Cut the overspend on these pen pushers and paper shufflers, by cutting the wages, pensions consultants and anything SLR not justifiably necessary. If some of these states people were in the private sector with their incompetence they would themselves soon been signing on at Wheadon House.

Well done Mike Hadley – Hunter Adam has failed as a minister and needs to be replaced. There are many cuts that could be made without cancelling operations but Hunter Adam is too weak to make them. Lets get someone in there who is capable of making the necessary cuts.

All these health cuts only save money from us WORKING people and won’t affect the ones on benefits I bet? Also it is not the way to reduce the islands population.

Why do we always have to sack everybody all the time?? What have Lowe and the self effacing Hadley ever done??? Except throw brick bats from a long distance, at those brave enough to be in the middle, making the tough decisions?
