QUEUES of jobseekers were waiting for the start of a job fair initiative that was piloted yesterday.
It took place at the Food and Retail Skills Shop at Admiral Park, with approximately 10 employers from the retail, hospitality, building and fulfilment sectors.
All employers taking part have permanent, temporary or seasonal vacancies that are currently, or will soon be, available.
The idea came from Personnel Appointments Ltd, which Social Security holds contracts with for the provision of services to help unemployed jobseekers back into work.
Although the primary focus of the job fair was to help those who are unemployed get back to work, it also gave employers a chance to compile a database of candidates for future vacancies.

Nice to see at least some people are genuinely looking for work.
