A PREGNANCY condition which is keeping the Duchess of Cambridge in hospital has been described as horrific by a Guernsey mother who also suffered from it.

Katie Solway, 27, was three weeks pregnant with her second daughter, Belle, now four months, when she started to be ill frequently.

However, it was not until she was seven weeks pregnant that she was admitted to hospital and diagnosed with hyperemesis.

She said she felt sorry for the Duchess but hoped it would raise awareness of the condition.

‘I was feeling nauseous all the time and couldn’t keep any liquids down at all,’ the medical secretary said.

…how do you spell band-wagon, Cher Eugene?

Don’t you have a real name, or are you just squatting behind a hedge hoping you will not be exposed.

Don`t worry guys, we`ve only got another 8 months of Kate`s pregnancy to go, along with all the other Katy`s pregnancy rubbish that goes with it.
Roll on July when we`ll get the rest of the birth, coming out of hospital, meeting great granny and grandpa (if they`re still around) and so on, and so on.
HOW BLOODY BORING.(Anyone would think they were having the first ever child.)

I feel sorry for any women having to go through that much sickness, even Kate.
Firstly if it was a man the world would be ending if they felt like this, but no as soon as a women has it we are expected to just pick ourselves up and get on with it.

I had toothache once and yes it hurt but I’m a man and just got on with it! Pregnancy can’t be that bad as women seem to want to do it again and again! :)

lol I guess some women have a better time with it then others. but I would love to see a man cope as well as a women does with pregnancy. ;P

Mark, women need to be hospilised with such a condition, i am sure if her pregnancy was all fine and dandy she wouldnt be in this situtation, i am sure if anyones wife or friend had this you wouldnt blink an eye and wish them good health, its only because its a royal everyone is getting annoyed. glad awareness is being raised about it!

        • Nothing better to do?

Perhaps the ordeal is horrific but a precious baby at the end is worth it – hence why women go on to have another.

P.S. I’m glad your toothache is better now, that must have been awful!

Thank you @ nothing better to do regarding your concern for my toothache and yes it is all better thanks (as with a baby my tooth has been removed from a bodily orifice!)

P.s. you think my toothache was bad you wait until I get man flu (a well known illness that is horrific which only men can catch)

I live in London and saw the hospital she is in….can i get in the Press now? If she gets a healthy baby at the end then she is much luckier than some people i know who would have taken a lifetime of vomitting to make their child heallthy or indeed to keep them alive

although just to note from what i’ve ready this condition is extremely unpleasant and i wouldn’t wish it on anyone and think it was worth the press story to raise awareness

Sounds a horrible thing to happen at what shoudl be a fun and exciting time. Shame it takes a Princess to get it for people to become aware. The baby in the picture looks beautiful
