Alderney seeks more action from States

ALDERNEY’S new-look States will have a Business Development, Tourism and Marketing Committee with individual members taking on responsibility for issues such as waste.

From January, policymaking will be the work of a newly formed Policy Committee, rather than the Policy and Finance Committee, which will become purely the Finance Committee with just three members.

The proposed changes are the result of five months’ work by serving members Tony Llewellyn and Paul Arditti.

Mr Llewellyn, pictured, said the re-structure was aimed at creating less talking and more action from the States committees.
