SARK Tourism chairman Sandra Williams topped the poll in the Island’s third general election as two sitting Conseillers lost their seats.
Conseiller Williams, pictured, polled 244 votes in the 77.5% turnout, heading off Hazel Fry with newcomer Karen Adams – a former Sark School head teacher and currently Visitor Officer at the Tourism Office – getting 219 votes to secure third place.
The two defeated members, Steve Taylor and Simon Higgins, along with retiring members Paul Armorgie and Helen Magell – who chose not to defend their seats – made way for Conseiller-elect Adams, Mick Mann, who came sixth, Margaret Mallinson in 11th place and Rob Cottle, who was 14th.
The other re-elected Conseillers were Christine Audrain, Rosanne Byrne, Liz Dewe, Richard Dewe, Tony Dunks, Charles Maitland, Andrew Prevel and Paul Williams, while remaining unsuccessful candidates were Paul Burgess, Simon Couldridge, Natalie Craik, Gemma Knight, Tony Le Lievre and Lorraine Southern.
