A MAN accused of importing a Class B drug will say he bought it as fertiliser for bonsai trees, the Royal Court heard yesterday.

Dean Hardy, 34, denies a single count of importing the synthetic cannabinoid JWH-122 via the postal network in June last year.

Advocate Rory Calderwood said the prosecution were saying that the defendant ordered the drug via the internet on 9 June and it was intercepted in a package that arrived at Guernsey Post’s Envoy House headquarters on 17 June.

The court would be shown details of Mr Hardy’s bank and Paypal accounts that members could weight against the things he said in interview.
