Bonsai tree drug case man found guilty
Saturday 22nd December 2012, 3:00PM GMT.
A GUILTY verdict was delivered yesterday in the case of man who denied importing a class B drug by post.
Dean Hardy, 34, claimed he had bought the substance as fertiliser for bonsai trees but the Royal Court rejected the argument by a six to three majority.
Hardy had previous convictions, the most significant of which was on 3 October 2006 when he was jailed for four-and-a-half years for cultivating cannabis.
Hardy was remanded in custody and will be sentenced in February.
