Planning ‘moving the goalposts’ with Admiral Park development

ENVIRONMENT has been accused of ‘moving the goalposts’ ahead of a decision being made over the next major phase of the Admiral Park development.

St Peter Port North deputies raised concerns over the blunder made by planners, who failed to spot they were assessing the multi-million pound development – including substantial office space and a cinema – against an out-of-date planning brief.

After the application being pulled from last month’s open planning meeting, developers Comprop will now resubmit its plans, but will have to comply only with the potentially less restrictive Urban Area Plan.

Deputy Lester Queripel, pictured, said he was disappointed and concerned that the department had moved the goalposts at the last minute by ditching the outdated planning brief.
