TRAFFIC jams developed around Forest Stores on Christmas Eve as fields used for overflow parking were out of use due to flooding caused by the heavy rain.

The shop was busier than usual with people buying food for Christmas Day.

The queues also affected people trying to get to the airport and caused difficulties for the Forest Church and its 4.30pm Birthday Party for Jesus service.

The Rev. Linda Le Vasseur said she had been in contact with States Works who had tackled flooded roads behind the church.
