ECONOMIC stability is the key wish for 2013, industry representatives have said.

Business leaders spoken to by the Guernsey Press said they were preparing for another tough year.

Confederation of Guernsey Industry chairman Richard Battersby, pictured, said it would be a result if 2013 matched 2012’s economic conditions.

‘It all starts with the state of the general economy and there is little sign of a solution to the problems in Europe and America,’ he said.

‘We have to break away from this cycle of chucking more and more money into the economy and interest rates that are causing huge problems for the people who make the backbone of the economy – the savers.’
