Video of Jethou Bumblebee’s rescue by the GSPCA

A RESCUED seal pup has been for his first swim since he was brought to Guernsey.

Jethou Bumblebee – the first of two pups helped in recent weeks – has exercised in the pool at the GSPCA.

He will be allowed out into the pool for longer periods each day to acclimatise him ready for his release in the spring.

Staff said that the mammal has doubled his weight and is recovering well.

He was rescued in November from Jethou. A second seal, Hanois, was rescued on Saturday from the Pleinmont area.

      Humbug

These critters are said to eat 10 – 18 lbs of fish per day in the wild, and now we’ve got two of them?

      Where will they be released?

Are they both seals of the opposite sex?

for your information there are dozens of grey seals in local waters.
they are certainly as entitled to fish as you.
i love the way you say ;now we have two of them’
what an arrogant statement,as if we own everything, we have no more rights to fish than they do far less so in fact.
they take only what they need we strip the oceans of as much as we can.

    DOZENS of the varmints !

It’s much worse than I thought.Might be worth spending a few bob consulting the Canadians on how to deal with this infestation before it really gets out of hand

That was a lightning four day riposte

Very well done you.Meanwhile those mackerel guzzling creatures have downed another 80-114lbs of fish between them

Could be well over a couple of hundredweight by the time you manage to think up a reply

    what can i say,,,
i didn,t consider your opinion important enough to answer in any haste
i have good news for you both seals are doing rather well and will be released in march to reproduce loads of fish scoffing pups,,,,,,,how nice.
now i realise with your godsyndrome beliefs that everything belongs to you this may be a problem,,,you are just going to have to learn to share.
oh if you wish to make a donation to the GSPCA that would be much appreciated.

      Hi River

While it’s nice to have a weekly chat with you I think I will break it off now as no-one else seems to have the remotest interest in this thread

Hope they release the seals in 100% good health
