Half FTP ‘savings’ made by cuts and increasing charges
Tuesday 15th January 2013, 10:00AM GMT.
ONLY about half the money banked so far in the States-wide cost-cutting drive can be classed as ‘efficiency savings’, it has been revealed.
Chief Minister Peter Harwood, pictured, released a breakdown of the Financial Transformation Programme, showing only £5.9m. of the £10.8m. savings made were efficiency-driven.
The revelation has further fuelled a potential backbench rebellion against the programme, which is being debated by the States later this month.
But despite the threat of a backbench rebellion against the programme, there are still those who remain supportive of the cost-cutting drive.
