Less than two weeks into 2013 and one St Peter Port retailer has closed, while another now faces the same threat.

We’ll be keeping tabs on developments surrounding HMV today, now that the parent company has called in the administrators.

And with Clydesdale Bank International announcing its intention to run down its Guersney operation with a view to pulling out next year, we’ll be getting more reaction to the news from the local industry and politicians.

There were more cancellations of buses in the island yesterday as a result of illness among drivers, and so we’ll be seeing what the situation is today.

Several amendments are expected to the forthcoming States report on the Financial Transformation Programme report which is being debated later this month. We’ll be chasing up the deputies said to be looking to make changes to the report to find out more.

And with St Peter Port Harbour undergoing major work at the moment, tomorrow’s Press will devote a page to the changing face of the White Rock, featuring photos of the work in progress at the docks.

Heather Watson’s campaign at the Australian Open continues in the early hours of tomorrow morning our time, when she takes on Kazakhstan’s Ksenia Pervak in the second round. We’ll have a report in tomorrow’s sports pages.

And there will be a report on tonight’s battle in the Priaulx League between current league champions North and the league’s leaders Bels. The match is due to start at the North Field at 7.30, but The Track at Victoria Avenue is on standby should bad weather affect the North ground.
