LONGFIELD Centre neighbours are relieved after their concerns over a new housing development were taken into consideration.
The Guernsey Housing Association resubmitted its application for 15 homes at the former special needs school off Maurepas Road after speaking to nearby residents.
Many raised issues over the proximity of the development and privacy and, as a result, two of the proposed houses have been reversed.
Rex and Lynn Williams have lived in The Oaks – a clos that backs onto the site – for the past five years.
‘The way it would have been sited woul’ve meant two of the houses would have backed right up to our boundary and garden,’ Mrs Williams, 38 said. ‘But the GHA spoke to all of us and we had a meeting so that we could voice our concerns and they have been really good.
