THE curtain came down on the Guernsey Festival of Dance 2013 yesterday.
More than 560 youngsters took part in multiple events that had run on a daily basis at Beau Sejour from Tuesday.
After judging the senior tap groups on Friday evening, adjudicator Karen Collings told another packed theatre: ‘Who needs Las Vegas when you’ve got Guernsey?’
The inaugural festival was held in 1951 and now it takes place biennially.
Margaret Gaudion and Hazel Rowe are the only two founding members who are still on the committee.
Ms Gaudion said the 2013 event – the 40th one – had been a wonderful success.
