RESULTS of Whispers Vinery’s routine emissions testing will be released for public scrutiny through the Castel douzaine, Environmental Health has confirmed.
Testing of the vinery’s controversial wood burner was carried out this week as part of the ongoing compliance monitoring required by the waste management licence for the site.
The douzaine has yet to see sight of the results since the burner became active last month, but Castel constables Bob Falla and Kevin Walsh confirmed Environmental Health had agreed to provide them.
It is expected that the results will be made public in the near future, they said.

Just a couple of corrections – the results of tests carried out on the 6/7th December were promised at the meeting at the Douzaine rooms by Val Cameron on the 8th December. Mark Langlois re-iterated that these results would be given to the Douzaine on the 15th December. As the tests carried out on the 6/7th December were not done by an accredited laboratory (this is a minimum requirement under UK guidance and would be Best Available Technique) further tests were carried out by an accredited laboratory on the 21st/22nd January and I presume that it will be these results that we shall, at last, be privileged to view. But, when scrutinising these results, please bear in mind that under the ‘polluter pays’ principle, the vinery owners know when testing is to be done and can control the input of material accordingly – it is all less than robust. So there are two sets of results to be released, not just this last lot.
I find it interesting that this is coursing a concern when the raw sewage is still being pumped into the sea …..double standard I think

Bet the Vinery owner wishes they had stuck with the old OIL burner. grin.
