Hospital block’s roof has leaked since it opened

HEALTH and Social Services has admitted that a hospital block, which houses three care units, has been leaking since it was opened nine years ago.
The department said it was carrying out an extensive survey of La Corbinerie, which was only built in 2004.
However, it refused to be drawn on whether any rooms had been closed due to the problems.
The issue came to light after ferns, which grow well in damp, humid conditions, were spotted growing on the roof of the building,
‘Initially, the roofs of the three units were found to be leaking around the area of the high level roof ventilation/roof lights at the top of the ridges,’ the spokesman said.
