New ‘Guernsey’ director due to pay a visit

A SCOUTING mission to explore possible filming locations for the ‘Guernsey’ film will take place in the next few weeks.

The Hollywood adaptation of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society has a new director in Simon Curtis, pictured, a new studio in StudioCanal and auditions are under way for a new star.

Producer Paula Mazur has confirmed that casting is under way for lead character Juliet Ashton and she hoped that an announcement would be made shortly.
She added that they were looking to get a ‘bankable’ star. The search is not being confined to English actresses, but Ms Mazur said a good English accent was vital.

New director Simon Curtis is due to visit the island at the end of this month.

This film is now looking more like a direct to DVD title than a Hollywood blockbuster.

Oh well, it’s starting to sound like it’s going to be one of those awful indy films that not even the Mallard would show

Hmmm, just as long as our lot don’t repeat the error of our Jersey brother, one Senator McClean, who gave £200,000 to a gentleman who offered to make a film in Jersey. The company he represented is now apparently in financial trouble and nothing has been heard since. The good Senator’s colleagues are said to be investigating…….Lagan scam on a smaller scale ?
