We’ll be chasing up the Environmental Health Department today, to get their comments on our lead story about rats forcing people out of their home next to the site of the former Hotel Les Carterets at Cobo.
Efforts will also be made to speak to the developer of the site, and we’ll also be getting hold of other residents in the area.
This week sees the February States meeting, and tomorrow we’ll have a preview of the matters that are going to be discussed, foremost among them being the Health and Social Services Department’s proposed mental health strategy.
A new charity is being launched today. The Heritage Charity Motor Festival will be raising funds for several charities, including the Saumarez Park Playground Appeal, the Male Uprising Group and the Lions’ Club. We’ll be going to meet the founders to find out more.
We’re sending a reporter to the Medical Specialists’ Group as they offer free health checks to their staff, and we’ll have a report on this in tomorrow’s Press.
We’re also meeting a lady who is due to celebrate her 104th birthday tomorrow, finding out why three bus services were cancelled this morning, and getting more reaction to the plans to redevelop Le Coq du Nord.
Tomorrow’s sports section’s main story is a closely guarded secret, but we can reveal that there will be a look ahead to Guernsey FC’s match away at Egham Town tomorrow night – Egham are second in the CCL Premier division and are seen as one of GFC’s main rivals.
There’ll be a detailed report of Bradley Watson’s boxing victory at the weekend, and a report on L’Ancresse Golf Club’s success in the first round of the Hampshire Sevens competition.
