Barbara, 85, can’t sleep after air pellets hit window
Tuesday 5th March 2013, 10:00AM GMT.
A GREAT-GRANDMOTHER whose bedroom window was shot at with what was believed to be an air gun said she was now struggling to sleep because she feared it could happen again.
Barbara Bourgaize, 85, was in bed in her room at Chateau des Tielles Nursing and Residential Home at 1.30am on Saturday when she heard a loud bang.
After putting on the light and calling staff, it was discovered that the double-glazed window had been cracked.
She was unharmed because the projectile penetrated the outer layer of the double-glazing only and not the inner.
‘I have got a bit wound up and stressed by it,’ she said. ‘It was very frightening and distressing.’
