A DOG owner has hit back at claims that her two-year-old boxer was ‘out to kill’ when it leapt on a beagle in Cambridge Park.

Krystal Butcher, 28, said she was really upset to hear that her puppy, Lola, had been branded a violent dog by the beagle’s owner, Hazel Robins.

Mrs Robins said her dog, Eddie, was dragged to the ground by its throat in the park and was left with three puncture wounds to its neck.

‘Lola is a puppy, she is very bouncy, but she is such a softie and definitely was not out to kill,’ the New Look sales assistant said. She was on a lead when we were in the park but while I was putting her in the car, I took it off and then she just bolted off towards the beagle.’

‘I was running after her but there was no way I would have caught up with her. She did get on top of the beagle, but it was not a vicious attack and I didn’t see her bite the lady’s hand.’
