SCRUTINY’S investigation into the AFR affair gets under way today.
The committee’s review panel, chaired by Alderney representative Paul Arditti (pictured), is holding its first meeting, at which it will consider the scope, timings and logistics of the review into the Home Department’s non-disclosure of details of the settlement with AFR Advocates.
We’ll be bringing you reaction to that in due course.
Also today, we’ll be following up on the news that some islanders are considering importing and selling super-unleaded petrol when garage sales are phased out from the end of March. Following stern warnings from the Health and Safety Executive, we’ll be looking further into the potential risks and penalties involved in such practice.
We’ll also be following up on the child protection issues highlighted in today’s paper, as well as looking into the progress of the island’s waste strategy and the results of Housing’s recent appeal for information about people breaking the law.
