A GOLD bracelet which Queen Victoria gave to her daughter is up for auction in Guernsey this month.
The piece has already been attracting a lot of interest and has featured in The Times newspaper.
It is inscribed to Queen Victoria’s third child, Princess Alice, and has the message: ‘To dear Alice from her loving parents Albert and Victoria R, who though visibly parted are ever united, April 25 1862.’
Martel Maides director James Bridges said it was a special piece as it was given to Princess Alice to mark her marriage to Prince Louis of Hesse and her move to Germany. But it was made even more poignant because Prince Albert died in December 1861 before he could give it to his daughter.
‘It is a wonderful thing, but it comes from a tragic past,’ Mr Bridges said.

A very pretty piece, possibly from the Estate of the Late Alberta Ashton? Guernsey lady.
