Alderney’s Trent class lifeboat ‘Roy Barker I’ and the RNLI boarding boat launched at 6:05 this morning to help two people on board the 36-ft German yacht ‘Loki’ which had broken away from her mooring and was drifting in Braye Harbour.

In severe sea conditions, driving snow and an easterly force 9 wind gusting to storm force, the stricken visiting yacht was rounded up and was safely secured alongside Commercial Quay by 6.45am.
