Guernsey Airport will not open today, it has just been announced. All flights are cancelled and the airport will reopen tomorrow morning at 9am.

All island schools will remain shut too as snow and high winds continue to hit the Bailiwick.

No buses ran this morning, but CT Plus said that the 7/7a service from Town to St Sampson’s and return would start again at midday.

Guernsey Police have warned motorists not to use the roads unless their journey is essential. As well as the icy surfaces, trees have fallen throughout the island, making some roads impassable.

Beau Sejour will close at 3pm, the Culture  and Leisure Department has announced.

All Eisteddfod classes are cancelled today, as is this evening’s zumba fitness class at Amherst.

Weather conditions are not expected to improve until at least this afternoon.

The Guernsey Press will post any updates via its Twitter feed, @GuernseyPress, with information also appearing on this page of This is Guernsey.
