Solutions to parking at Cour du Parc ‘not cost effective’

CAR stacking and basement spaces were investigated to create more car parking at Cour du Parc, but none of the ideas were cost-effective, Guernsey Housing Association chief executive Steve Williams has said.
The association’s plans to revamp the St Peter Port tower block have been criticised after it was revealed that the planned 50 flats would share just five parking spaces – and these would be reserved for visitors and disabled residents.
‘We know this is an issue and there is no hiding from it,’ saide Mr Williams, pictured.
‘We looked at half a dozen ideas, but the expense was very, very high and they were not value for money.’
