HUNDREDS of young people received advice and information from more than 60 employers at this year’s Career Show.
The annual event finished yesterday afternoon and students were impressed with the breadth of career opportunities available to them when they leave school.
Grammar School Year 10 students David Merrien, Mitchell Broughton and Ethan Waterman said it had been very useful.
‘It has been really interesting to see the different job opportunities that are available here in Guernsey – there is so much variety,’ David, 14, said.
Mitchell, also 14, said he was interested in becoming a photographer.
Head of the Careers Service Sarah Stonebridge said she was pleased with how the two-day event had gone.

I found the higher education event better myself- it was was change compared to the usual stalls set up by local businesses that one encounters when they wander around the Careers Show. I say ‘wander’ because I, personally, was highly reluctant to visit the stalls last year and the year before that, but spent the most of my time going around in circles.
