Rugby player of year denies GBH attack
Tuesday 25th June 2013, 12:00PM BST.
A TOP rugby player’s attack on another man in a Town pub left his alleged victim needing reconstructive surgery to a fractured eye socket in a UK hospital, the Royal Court heard yesterday.
Thomas Pool, 23, denies inflicting grievous bodily harm on Lee Falla at The Swan, St Julian’s Avenue, on 15 December.
The defendant, the Guernsey Rugby Club’s player of the year last season, did not travel to the away match against Dorking that day because of injury, but met colleagues on their return that evening.
Crown Advocate Chris Dunford said Mr Falla had also suffered damaged to his teeth during the attack when he was punched without warning.
The case continues.
