CT Plus and drivers hold crunch talks
Monday 2nd September 2013, 2:54PM BST.
BUS drivers held talks with CT Plus this morning, leaving the operator hopeful the workers will call off their planned strike.
‘CT Plus has met this morning with the union and a drivers’ representative to explore their issues,’ communications director for the operator Frank Villeneuve-Smith said.
‘The meeting was productive and sensible and was able to address many drivers’ concerns straight away. The drivers will be holding a further meeting tonight where the union and the drivers’ representative will recommend not to strike this week.
‘We call on drivers to listen to their Union this evening, observe what gets achieved through talking not striking, and reflect on the disruption to people’s live that strikes cause – particularly with schools back this week – and then call off this entirely unnecessary strike.’
