Bus strike will go ahead after peace talks fail

A TWO-day bus strike is still set to go ahead tomorrow after crisis talks held between CT Plus and the drivers’ union last night failed to avert industrial action.
The introduction of new duty rotas for the drivers has sparked the latest row.
Unite regional officer Bob Lanning, who flew in for the emergency meeting yesterday, said he was now at a loss and equally as frustrated as the bus operator.
‘The drivers were quite adamant that the concessions were not enough. The biggest problem we have got now is that we don’t know what is enough.
‘If I had a clear path to follow some clear concessions I could take them to the company, but the drivers feel we were here a few months ago and nothing has changed and they are adamant they will go on strike,’ he said.
