Milk price to go up by 3p a litre
Thursday 19th September 2013, 10:05AM BST.
MILK will go up by 3p a litre next month.
Commerce and Employment yesterday confirmed it had approved the Milk Price Review Panel’s recommendation to increase the price, which will come into effect on 6 October.
From that date, the fixed price for a litre pack of Guernsey Dairy milk will be £1.11 in shops and on doorsteps.
The new retail prices for milk sold locally will become:
Skimmed, semi-skimmed and full cream litre packs – £1.11
Half litres (types as above) – 63p
Organic milk (half-litres) – 81p
‘Even after this 3p increase our excellent quality locally produced milk is still available at a realistic price for customers,’ minister Kevin Stewart said.
