Bus users wish they could turn back the clock on service

FORMER bus users living near Collings Road are choosing to walk rather than count on its severely-reduced winter service which started yesterday, they have said.
And one passenger, Jason Lockwood, who is registered blind told of how in the past he was left waiting for over an hour.
Mr Lockwood, 41, said the service had gone downhill since CT Plus took over. ‘When the timetable changed I was waiting at the stop for over an hour because the bus didn’t turn up,’ he said. ‘I don’t bother getting the bus now because I don’t trust them. Whenever I want to go anywhere I catch a lift with the wife or with a friend or I can walk.
‘I wish we could go back to the way things were.’
The area was highlighted by bus campaigner Deputy John Gollop as one of the places that was the poorest served for decades, following timetable changes by operator CT Plus.
CT Plus parent company HCT Group communication’s director Frank Villenueve-Smith was not immediately available to respond to the criticism.
