Dangerous tree is felled

A TREE which crashed through the bedroom of a six-year-old child has been felled.
The Monterey pine, believed to be 65 years old, was at a property on Godaines Avenue, St Peter Port.
It caused damage to the house two weeks ago when a branch fell from it.
Special Branch owner Simon Marshall said the tree itself had the potential to fall, and was being removed for safety.
‘We are cutting it down to ground level.
‘After it lost the limbs [which fell onto the bedroom] the tree was a bit too close to the house, thus removal.’
