Bon Port Hotel tenant is given two days to leave
Wednesday 16th October 2013, 3:00PM BST.
THE tenant of Bon Port Hotel was given two days to leave the premises yesterday.
Shaun McDonald said he could not defend the eviction application brought by mother and daughter Vivien and Alison Haynes, but he denied failing to look after the property.
For Ms and Miss Haynes, Advocate Mark Ferbrache told the Ordinary Division of the Royal Court how the parties had entered into a two-year lease agreement in December 2010.
The tenant paid a peppercorn rent annually of £1. One condition was that he repaired and maintained the electrical system. The owners were responsible for insuring the hotel, to which Mr McDonald had agreed not to do anything that would increase the cost of the premium.
Estate agent Chris Lovell helped draw up the lease but when he visited the hotel towards the end of 2012 he found the electrical work had not been done.
