Chickens found in toilets – no fowl play
Saturday 19th October 2013, 12:12PM BST.
THERE was no evidence of fowl play, but the men’s toilets at North Beach were invaded by three hens in the early hours of yesterday.
Guernsey Police notified the GPSCA at 1am when the adult birds were discovered in one of the cubicles, surrounded by bread.
The animal shelter’s night wardens, Matt Hill-Smith and Jen Bradshaw, quickly captured the birds and took them back to their St Andrew’s base, where they were checked over and made comfortable.
Speaking yesterday afternoon, manager Steve Byrne said the hens – now named Doughnut, Duchess and Muffin – were in good condition.
If you know who owns the birds, please call the shelter on 257261.
