‘I’m up to pressure of getting qualifying standard’

LEE MERRIEN has one marathon left to achieve the A standard and qualify for London 2012.
But the fact he has one more chance is not fazing the Guernsey distance runner. He is confident of reaching the required standards to become an Olympian.
Merrien placed 22nd in the World Championship Marathon in Daegu, 18 sec. outside the top 20, which would have ensured his A target.
Other races require a qualifying time of sub-2hrs 12min., rather than the top-20 placing in South Korea. Merrien was five minutes off that time.
