St Martin’s 4, Vale Rec 1
JOHN PEACE’S tenure at Blanche Pierre Lane got off to the perfect start last night.
An astonishing goal-blitz of three in three minutes at the start of the second half put Saints beyond the reach of Vale Rec and put a smile on the new coach’s face.
‘I thought we played superbly well. The players did exactly what we asked of them, which was to keep the ball and finish chances when we had them,’ Peace said.
‘In the first half we were not committing men forward as much as we would have liked, but in the second we did get men forward and got the ball in the back of the net.’
Although there was certainly plenty to admire from Saints, for the first 47min. of the match it was a decent contest.

John is a really nice man and will bring a consistent and honest approach.
I wish him well. As a Saints fan I am pleased with his appointment and hope for a season where we can build a new team (having lost a few players to transfers and GFC commitments) Lets hope we can keep the league title, if we can I would see this as a massive achievement.
