Guernsey FC 2, Feltham 0
Saturday 12th November 2011, 5:55PM GMT.
Ross Allen
A BRACE from striker Ross Allen ensured a below-par Guernsey FC picked up another home win to maintain their 11-point cushion at the top of the Combined Counties League Division One.
Despite being flat and careless in possession for long periods, a fine finish either side of half-time by Allen was enough for the Green Lions, with midfielder Angus Mackay outstanding in a man-of-the-match performance.
And the Lions’ title hopes were also enhanced with the news that unbeaten Hartley Wintney unexpectedly slipped up at home to South Kilburn, while third-placed Eversley also lost.

what a pity no report on inter insular football, how did u21s get on
Report abuse
That’s because nobody outside of North has any interest in any ‘Guernsey’ youth fixtures due to the ridiculous and blatent policy of only selecting North players. All other clubs should withold subscription fees to the GFA until this bias is stopped. essentially all the other 6 clubs are having to subsidise an extension to the North youth training programme. Not to mention the young players being told they will not be considered for island selection whilst playing for certain clubs. And yes … that has happened – from so called Island coaches!

That shut you up Laurie

bart. I REALLY DONT UNDERSTAND YOUR COMMENT [ANOTHER PERSON THAT DOESNT PUT THEIR NAME]

What part of bart isnt my name?
Laurie, you have been against Guernsey FC from the off. I presume you’ve seen the one page spread of the u21′s today in today’s GP? You whine for the sake of it and its terribly boring now.
Why don’t you get behind Guernsey FC rather than belittling them constantly. Go to a game, you never know, you might like it.

@ Bart
I think Laurie lives in the UK so relies on the web content rather than the paper copy you and I see.
I think he only has access to the away games as well.
TBH I’ve found that the GFC performances recently have been a bit poor in many respects recently.
Would you say they are playing as well in months 3 &4 as they did in 1 & 2?

BArt, whoever you are. i have never been against gsy fc. but i also care about all football, and i would like to think that press coverage should be for all, not just for gsy fc. i would think that the result of a u21 interinsular carries as much importance as any game and should have been reported at the same time as gsyfc.as for belittling gsy fc, you will never find any comment by me in that vein.as for me going to a game,if you new anything about me you would know why i dont.i will not answer the [boring] comments.and your full name would be good, then i can see if your comments are from any football knowlege, some of the u21s are the near future of gsy fc

Laurie
I’m sort of with you on this
The well oiled FC publicity machine even had Radio Guernsey fooled – Sunday morning’s news reports referred to the fact that a local club side had beaten a UK team, but failed to mention the u21 Muratti result

ED, YOU ARE NEARLY RIGHT. MISTA JOON. SPOT ON.I ONLY ASK THAT ALL FOOTBALL IS TREATED THE SAME.

Laurie,
Firstly, please accept my apologies. I did have you confused with another poster on this is Guernsey who is a strongly opposed to Guernsey FC.
In response to your other comments, I apologise i don’t know your life story. I do not respond to all posts as not all interest me. Further, i don’t read all posts hence the reason for not knowing your life story.
GuernseyFC has reinvigorated local football. That is without question. I understand from Channel Report that around 200 supported the u21 on the weekend. Is this less than the usual attendance at the event? I doubt it.
What negatives can be taken from Guernsey FC?
Again I presume you saw the write up in the press yesterday for the u21′s? You may also note that there was more coverage of that game on u21′s on channel report last night.
As for my name, my credentials. Nothing to do.

BART. I ACCEPT YOUR APOLOGY, WHAT I CAN TELL YOU ,I DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE PRESS,AND I CAN ALSO SAY THAT WHEN I WAS INVOLVED IN THE MOST SUCCESSFUL COACHING PARTNERSHIP AT SENIOR ISLAND AND U21 LEVEL WE HAD VERY HIGH ATTENDANCES, BUT THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PRESENT DAY CROWDS. I FEEL IT WOULD HELP ALL FOOTBALL IF THE PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT GSY FC WOULD ALSO SHOW THEIR SUPPORT OF ALL FOOTBALL,EVEN IF 25% OF THE CROWD SUPPORTED OTHER FOOTBALL WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT WOULD MAKE, FINALLY, I DO SUPPORT GSY,FC, BUT FEAR FOR LOCAL FOOTBALL, AND WITHOUT LOCAL FOOTBALL IN NOT TO MANY YEARS THERE WILL BE NO GSY FC, AND IT WOULD BE GOOD IF I KNEW WHO YOU ARE

Laurie
I concur with your sentiments entirely.

Laurie,
I think your keyboard is broken.

I dont understand why the under 21 match was not played before the GFC match at Footes Lane, that way you probably would have had a much bigger crowd.
I think all this bickering is getting silly now and its time that someone worked out what was best for football overal in Guernsey!!

TAZ, YOU ARE SO RIGHT

Would you like me to come and replace it for you free of charge?
